This site was developed to help with teaching chess skills. Hundreds of pages of material can be downloaded for free, while some material is designed for use online -- including quizzes, exercises for forcing checkmate, a move-prediction exercise and an epic story that introduces many ideas about basic chess strategy. The material presumes that the user is familiar with the rules of chess. Players and coaches who have logged in can easily view progress reports.

In August 2013 I stopped accepting new members for the reserved portions of the site because of limitations for updating and properly maintaining content. All existing accounts will remain usable, regardless of expiration dates.

By the way, my pseudonym, Prof. Chester Nuhmentz, is meant to be pronounced "chess tournments"! Please feel free to send a note if you have any questions or suggestions. Enjoy your visit!
